A New Dialogue in Art:

Li Huayi and the Tigillus Foundation at Ink Asia 2023

The Tigillus Foundation under the stewardship of its founder David Chang has been a champion of promoting innovative Chinese artists who transcend cultural boundaries with their eclectic aesthetic sources. Our presentation of Li Huayi’s art at the 2023 Ink Asia Art Fair in Hong Kong is an example of our strong commitment to cultural advocacy.

One of Li’s works from our collection which was loaned to the Fair was transformed into a powerful representative banner. This prominent display highlighted Li Huayi’s unique blend of traditional Chinese ink techniques with modern artistic vision, underscoring the artist’s commitment to creating a new idiom in art that appealed to the sensibilities of the global art community. Among a global audience, Li Huayi’s art elicited a new appreciation of an ancient Chinese art form, and in highlighting both the depth and innovation of contemporary ink art we stake out our role in bridging Eastern and Western art worlds. We at the Tigillus Foundation also hope that our collection will serve to inspire a new generation of artists who seek to create innovative art work that strikes a chord with the growing global art community.
